A Christmas message from the ENAS President Mel Parker
Dear Members,
We’ve nearly reached the end of another year and hasn’t it been a strange one!
This time last year I’m sure we were all expecting things to be back to normal, but I guess we’re now thinking that the pandemic, and our need to respond and flex to the changing circumstances is part of our new reality.
We had our first National in-person get together of our University sports colleagues in the UK (BUCS) last week, and it was really great to be able to meet up again in person – especially after so long doing virtual meetings.
We managed to have an in-person Executive committee meeting earlier in the year too, and that too was really great, productive, and enjoyable to have that in-person connection.
Our major event of the year – the Forum from University of Stirling was a virtual event, but it was really well received by the 90+ members who signed up. Cathy Gallagher put together an informative and inspiring event, and if you weren’t able to make it, don’t forget that you can catch up with the presentations in the Member Area on the ENAS website.
We launched our new strategy at the General Assembly, and the Executive committee will be developing our annual activity plan to move the strategic objectives forward early in the new year.
The Christmas festive season is a time of cheer, connecting with family and friends, and then moving into the new year a time to refresh and re-energise, a time of new beginnings. Let’s all hope the attempts to control and contain the coronavirus make good strides, and that we’re able to enjoy a safe and healthy time during this period, and the necessary restraints on our freedom are only temporary.
I wish everyone a very merry Christmas, and best wishes for 2022, and hope we have the opportunity to meet up again in Porto, if not before.
Mel Parker
ENAS President
