The ENAS family mourns the loss of Thomas Woll

The ENAS family mourns the loss of Thomas Woll.

Thomas Woll, the Head of University Sport in Kaiserslautern (Germany), sadly passed away on the 22nd November at the age of 60.

He led the University Sport team at Technical University of Kaiserslautern since 2005, and developed their reputation as a national and internationally recognized institution.

He was a brilliant leader, innovator, networker and promotor for sport and wellbeing on campus, but he was even more than that. Creating a new style of Campus life was his passion: he and his team not only organized a sport programme of more than 100 sports, but he also coordinated many highly recognized events on Campus like the yearly Summer festival for the whole University, and the University hike and Campus run. With his team of around 30 staff, he literally moved the Campus.

In 2019 he and his team won the ENAS Award with the astonishing project “Game of TUK“, a masterpiece which included a combination of physical activity, well being, university identification and socializing, as well as student participation and gamification.

University Sport on a local, regional, national and international level loses a highly engaged, innovative, respected and charasmatic leader.

Our thoughts and condolences go to his family and his team. May he rest in peace.
