Wednesday 20th March 2024

Registration will open from 12:00 to 13:30 CET
Arrival at Fletcher Hotel 'De Wageningsche Berg' Nestled in the center of the woods of Renkum and Wageningen, situated next to the arboretum, and offering a beautiful overview of the Lower Rhine, you will find Fletcher Hotel-Restaurant De Wageningsche Berg. (Visit hoteldewageningscheberg.nl) This hotel brings you close to the city of Wageningen and the greenest University in the Netherlands: Wageningen University and Research. Lunch and welcome drinks will be provided.

Session 1: All about Vitality? 
This first session will start at 13:30 CET. Together we will define what vitality is and why it became such an important topic lately. Also, we give you practical information with which you can work on your vitality AND what you can give your guests to elevate their vitality. Topics that will be covered include Self-determination theory, Psychological Basis Needs, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Personal values, Lifestyle & vitality, How to measure vitality.

Session 2: What does Vital@work?
A brief overview of how and what Wageningen University offers and organizes for its employees in the context of vitality.

Beginning of spring, the most vital season of the year!

-Morning

Physical activity: Walk, workout, or yoga

Breakfast & Cycling: After breakfast, you will receive a bike, and in small subgroups, we will bike to Sports Centre de Bongerd on Wageningen Campus.

Session 3: Sleep and stress management
Stress overload or a lack of sleep is a risk to your health, causing memory and concentration problems and leading to poor decision-making. In this lecture, we will discuss the circadian rhythm, sleep, stress as a gift, happiness, and flow.

Session 4A:

Food & Health Vitamins: small molecules that make us strong and healthy

In this lecture, we will cover the importance of vitamins for our health. What are vitamins? Why are they important for us? What can we do to get sufficient amounts from our nutrition? Do we need supplements? This lecture will provide a basic and wide overview of vitamins.
Presenter: Michiel Balvers, senior researcher nutritional biomarker analysis Nutrition and Health department WUR Nutrition and cancer: facts and fables

What can a healthy diet and exercise mean to prevent cancer or for someone who has or has had cancer?
An up-to-date overview of scientific insights into the role of nutrition and exercise before, during, and after cancer treatment. This lecture provides insight into where scientifically substantiated information about the relationship between nutrition and cancer can be found.

Session 4B: Bloody
Beautiful Did you know that women cycle through different "seasons" every month? They all have their own superpowers and pitfalls. Some days provide you with tremendous energy and gracefulness. Other days your hormones will nudge you to reflect, ponder, and sort out which things you can let go of. Getting to know your Natural Cycle can be a relief as well as a source of joy. This workshop focuses on the hormonal dance and signals you can trace. It will, hopefully, trigger your curiosity and increase your knowledge about the signals and powers of your own body.

Session 5: Monkey mind
Do you also have these thoughts that pop up in your mind, an opinion you seem to have, almost unconsciously, about a certain situation or about yourself? This voice can be grumpy, curious, or pretty calm. It can sign, whisper, shout, yet rarely seems to disappear entirely... Sounds familiar? In earlier traditions, it has already been referred to as the 'Monkey Mind.' Join this workshop to discover various moods your Monkey can show and effective strategies to recognize and tame your monkeys. Session 6: Choosing Courage
Both at work and at home, we feel we have to do too much in too little time. Instead of pausing and considering which things are really important and impactful, we just keep on running. Making conscious choices has become an essential skill for working and living healthily and happily. Doing so, however, takes COURAGE. In this interactive seminar, Adriaan takes you on a journey on how to build courage and make better choices. Presenter: Adriaan Gijsberts, psychologist at Shared Ambition
