Welcome

A message on behalf of ENAS President, Mel Parker

I’m delighted to welcome you to the website of ENAS, and do hope you will find the information you are looking for.

ENAS is a membership organisation and we welcome members from the University and College sector, who are involved in the delivery of sport and physical activity in their institutions.

The whole ethos of ENAS, is one of collaboration and sharing between members, and this is exemplified by the range of opportunities open to member institutions. ENAS organise an annual Forum in November each year, as well as other varied development opportunities for staff. We encourage sharing of best practice through our Member’s corner sessions, as well as inviting applications for the annual ENAS Award from institutions with innovative ideas that could be taken up by others. We support and encourage staff exchanges, and help facilitate joint projects, through potential funding streams such as Erasmus +.

We have over 120 member institutions from 21 countries across Europe. With this broad range of membership we have been able to secure recognition as a representative body for the sector within the European Commission, and we are regularly invited to be present at European Community events and to contribute to policy development through membership of working groups where policies and recommendations of good practice are developed for the European community.

Any membership organisation is only as strong as the constituent members, and the enthusiasm with which they engage in member activities. We have a wide diversity of size and academic ranking within our membership, with many world leading academic institutions as members, but our focus as an organisation is how we can improve the promotion and delivery of sports development. Our mission is to be the leading network for University sport development, recognised for inspiring innovation and sharing best practice.

ENAS has developed over the last 20+ years into a recognised and respected representative organisation. We have a new strategy in place, a representative Executive Committee, and the resources and commitment to continue to grow and develop the organisation to enhance our services to members, and really make a difference impacting the health and wellbeing of the students, staff and local communities we serve.

If you like the sound of what ENAS has to offer, please explore the website further, or feel free to contact our ENAS Development Manager andrea-castagna@enas-sport.net.

As a member network, we really do rely on feedback from the membership to let us know if we are heading in the right direction, and if you have any comments or suggestions please do not hesitate to contact me  president@enas-sport.net.

Yours in sport,

Mel Parker
